FAQ

1.  How much does your course cost?

Our course costs $17.95. This includes online readings, review quizzes, final exam, and electronic delivery of your completion certificate. Please note, some Courts (Lake, Lassen, Napa, and Ventura) require identity verification prior to taking the final exam. You will be given the option to verify your identity online for an additional $5.00, or you may choose to verify your identity through a notary public.

2.  How long does it take to complete the course?

Since every person is different, course completion times vary. This course was designed to be completed within 6 to 8 hours. Some students will need less time, others may need more time.

3.  I need my completion certificate right away. What do I do?

The completion certificate will be sent directly to the Court electornically upon final exam completion. Please check your e-mail for confirmation that you have passed the final exam.

4.  Do I need to verify my identity?

Lake, Lassen, Napa, and Ventura Counties require identity verification prior to taking the final exam. You will have the option to verify your identification online for $5.00 or through a notary public, which may charge a seperate fee.

5. What is ID verification? How do I verify my identity?

Lake, Lassen, Napa, and Ventura Counties require that students verify their identity prior to taking the final exam. ID verification is done either online, by asking you a series of questions that only you can answer, or in person through a notary public.

All students will be given the opportunity to verify online. However, not every student will be able to verify their identity online due to any number of reasons.

  • New social security number.
  • Inability to locate name in data base due to lack of identifying information.

If you are unable to, or do not wish to, verify your ID online, you may verify your ID through a notary public.

If you choose to verify your ID through a notary public, you will print the final exam, fill in the answer sheet, and then take the answer sheet to a notary public to have it notarized. You will then need to fax the answer sheet to our business office. We will then grade your final exam and e-mail you the results.

6. Do you send my certificate directly to the Court?

Yes! Certificates are sent directly to the Court via electronic delivery. After you have passed the final exam you will receive an e-mail notification of your results. Please note, it is the student's responsibility to confirm that the Court has received the completion certificate. See Question 11 for contact information.

7.  My due date is soon. What do I do?

Sign up and get started right away! The course is available to you online 24/7. It is very important that you finish the course before your due date. If you do not think you will be able to finish before your due date, please call us before giving up! We are here to offer encouragement, tips, and good advice.

8.  How do I know if I am eligible for traffic school?

The Court determines your eligibility for traffic school. Usually, you are considered eligible for traffic school if you have not taken or have not been eligible for traffic school within the last 18 months. Please do not sign up for the course until you have received your paperwork from the Court. It is not worth spending the time on the course, only to find out you are not eligible for traffic school.

9. Where do I find my information in order to register for the course?

You can find all the necessary information needed to register for the course on the paperwork sent to you by the Court. If you are unsure that you have received paperwork, or if you are not sure you are eligible for traffic school, please contact the Court handling your citation.
